ORIENTATION ITINERARY

08:45 – 09:00 New Drivers arrive

09:00 Sharp – Welcome - Hand out Orientation Itinerary of the days events

09:00 – 09:05 – Collect completed “Items Brought with You” sheets – verify everything is complete and the required items have been brought with you - Re-schedule if necessary. staff makes copies of all docs while drivers are doing Applications & Lease Agreements

09:10 – 09:30 Hand out D.O.T. applications – fill out & return to staff completed. Applications go to “Application Review" for accuracy and thoroughness to verify everything is complete or determine if a re-schedule is
necessary / any missing info.

09:30 – 09:40 Staff helps with any application questions or help filling out.

09:40 – 10:40 Lease Agreements – fill out & turn in completed.

10:40 – 11:00 Lease Agreement Q & A (if any). Staff helps out to complete Leases. Lease Agreement goes to “Contract Review” for accuracy and thoroughness to verify everything is complete or determine if a re-schedule is necessary.

Staff then measures units & decals units. TRAINING BEGINS.

All legal formalities are completed and we focus on a crunched training session. Training is short but continues while your in the field for up to 30 days or Beyond if required. Basically, we cover delivery examples and practice Deliveries and paperwork, use your Nextel to contact dispatchers and complete some hypothetical loads. We do it this way so you can continue training while your earning money.

11:00 – 12:00 – Information exchange – Orientation / Training & procedures i.e.
Turning in BOL’s, required phone calls, load time frames, calling off, pass out Driver Handbook, discuss navigation – directions – support, Q & A pportunities. Program Nextels – go over how to operate. Verify Nationwide coverage with Nextel & check voice mail. Advise Main Dispatch of “Active Drivers”. Final Concerns. Refusing loads / Resignation. Practice 1st load, radio and paperwork. Turn in BOL’s. Point of Contact after orientation. Service Failures. Job Retention, open discussion, Unit Specs. Loading / Unloading..

12:00 – 12:30 Lunch break

Final part of orientation.

12:30 – 14:30 – Discussion about finance and profit / running your business, things that can cause failure and success. Documentation of expenses and tax preparation. Review of mistakes with loads leading to Service Failures. Realities of OTR expediting. Discuss down time, patience and preparation. Retention and suggestions on how to make your job fun and profitable. Review what causes business failures. Future opportunities with All Types.

Re-locate to home or stand by area / staging for first load or rest.
